"What are Canine Kids?"

Welcome to Canine Kids. No doubt you are wondering what we are all about. Here we are all about our special dog or dogs. That bond that many of us share with our pets and a lot of people just do not understand. We are neither hoarders nor eccentrics no we have a good grip on reality, we just love our pets.

Pet Information

It is hard to believe some people have very strong feelings about how we pamper our pets. I have been reading with great interest and concern what some of them say about our canine kids.

They seem to have a lot of animosity towards some of us. Often they get down right insulting in their opinions. Well this site is not for them. Here we think of our dogs as canine kids or furbabies. Here our pets are more than just a dog, they are considered part of the family, yes even a family member.

Animals and pets

Our dogs fill a large place in our hearts. They are an important part of our lives. They are our pets, our companions and often our only reason to get out of bed in the morning.

When we share our lives with a special pet we feel loved and needed. They often make us feel wanted and worthwhile. Many times especially with the lonely or elderly they even give us a reason to live. This site is about the dogs that are a special part of the family.

Small dogs for adoption

There are many reasons people have adopted dogs into their families:

Young couples : They don’t have any children yet. They adopt a pet to round out their family. Sort of a test run on being parents.

Childless people: They adopt pets to take the place of children they never had.

Middle age people: They are becoming empty nesters. The children are grown and moving out. The new pet fills this emptiness. Yes this is why I adopted my first furbaby.

Seniors: They are often alone and a pet gives the elderly companionship and a reason to face another day.

Yes baby boomers, childless couples, elderly and singles are all folks that have pets to replace children grown or children they never had.

It is our nature to nurture; there is nothing odd about that. People need to be needed and our pets need us. They need us for their food, water, love and care. They need to see the vet regularly and to be groomed properly.

My small dogs

My pets or as I often refer to them, my furbabies consist of an 8 year old Yorkshire Terrier, Hannamaye. She is a solid 9 lbs and about 10 inches tall.

We also have Tiffany who is 4 years old. Tiffany weights in at a whopping 5 lbs and is about 9 inches tall. She is half Shih Tzu and half Chihuahua. Tiffany looks like a Shih Tzu but has the personality of a Chihuahua.

Our dogs are not back yard dogs. We do not chain our dogs outside or leave them to roam the neighborhood. They are with us where ever we go. We travel in an RV so they are allowed wherever we travel.

So here let us share our love, joy and concerns for our pets without shame or embarrassment. Yes our pets are pampered, well cared for and very much loved. Our pets are special to us and we are proud of it.

This site is about companionship with our pets. How we need them as much as they need us. How they can and do fill that empty spot in our hearts and lives. Yes this site is for everyone who knows what it is like to be loved unconditionally and nonjudgmental.

It is also for anyone that is considering adopting a furbaby into his or her home. You will learn how to care for that special pet because here we are Moms and Dads of Canine Kids. Yes I admit that I am the Mom of two canine kids and love every minute of it. So lets love, share and enjoy our pets.
